Incident
No-logout feature temporarily rolled back
Resolved
We have temporarily rolled back the no-logout feature on Windows we released on August 4th, due to issues being reported on some personal devices. We took the decision to immediately pull the feature to limit the impact on exams, while we investigate what causes this selection of devices to conflict with our software.

Impacted students reported an entire black screen when starting the exam environment, with only their cursor visible. The only way to regain access to the device was by rebooting the machine.

Students will now receive a standard auto-update when starting an exam that disables the no-logout functionality, meaning that Windows users will be logged out before starting their exam, just as they did before August 4th.

This incident had no impact on the availability of our services.
We will send more information about this rollback today in the Release Notes mailing list.
